Daniel Candlewick

Young Daniel Candlewick finds himself in the difficult position of needing to help his widowed mother pay the mortgage on thier small farm. This is made all the more difficult by the fact that the year is 1933 and Daniel is ten years old. Daniel misses his father who died in a tractor accident and he is just becoming aware of the childhood he is going to miss now that he's the man of the house. Adult responsibility has come early to him and the weight of his own and his mother's future falls on his small shoulders. It remains to be seen if he will be up to the task.
